March 28, 2022EUROSAF Inclusive Cup 2022 – Cooperation with International 2.4mR Class
The EUROSAF Inclusive Cup 2022 combines relevant regattas in the 2.4mR inclusive class into a Cup. A total of nine events in five European countries will be included in the multi-national Cup ranking of the European Sailing Federation EUROSAF: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and new this year is France with the 2.4mR Class European Championship in Quiberon.
Together with the multi-class EUROSAF Inclusive European Championship in Gmunden, Austria, two European Championships are part of the Cup this year. The announcement of the overall Cup ranking and the prize-giving ceremony will take place at the end of the last event, the Czech Grand Prix in September.
“The Cup events were chosen together with the class association. I am happy that we have national and international regattas included, and especially that we have already dared to add an additional country in the second year,” says Doris Gstatter, secretary general of EUROSAF.
“The Cup offers a great opportunity for sailors from all over Europe to meet, exchange, and compete at international level. By traveling further afield than their home waters they discover new regattas and new fellow sailors and enhance their experience. By being consistent in their results they have a European recognition within their reach. Furthermore, the sailors’ ranking provided by EUROSAF promotes participation and gives more value to sailors, to the Class, and to event organizers without adding events to the calendar,” says Josep M Pla, EUROSAF president.
EUROSAF Cup events must fulfil certain requirements to be included in the ranking. The best results in the overall ranking count for the sailors, discards depend on the total number of events the sailors attended.
