First-ever EUROSAF Single-handed Europeans

  • EUROSAF BENETEAU First 27 SE & Seascape27 European Single-handed Championship 2021
  • 15 to 19 September, Svendborg, Denmark

EUROSAF and BENETEAU have joined forces and we are proud to announce first ever Single-handed European Championship, which will be sailed on OneDesign Class of BENETEAU First 27 SE - Seascape Edition & Seascape27 boats.

The very first EUROSAF BENETEAU First 27 SE & Seascape27 European Single-handed Championship will take place as a part of the Silverrudder race in Svendborg, Denmark later this month. It will follow the same route as Silverrudder, but with another level of competition within BENETEAU First 27 SE & Seascape27 OneDesign Class.

With more than 150 boats sold, the BENETEAU First 27 SE – Seascape Edition & Seascape27 has become the largest offshore one-design class in Europe. So BENETEAU decided to have a race on an appropriate level in an official partnership with the Svendborg Amatør Sejlklub and the team behind Silverrudder – Challenge of the sea, the largest non-stop single-handed offshore category III race in the world, according to its organizers.

“The EUROSAF Mixed Offshore European Championship 2021 was sailed on BENETEAU Figaro3 boats in Italy just a few days ago. Thus, I am especially pleased with this first single-handed EUROSAF BENETEAU European Championship. I look forward to expanding this cooperation between BENETEAU and EUROSAF further afield," says Josep M. Pla, President of EUROSAF, with a look into the future.

“Having established shorthanded circuit of events all over Europe, we believe it’s time to take it one step further for the title for European Single-handed Champions. Making it as a part of Silverrudder with an extra layer of OneDesign racing gives these Europeans a great setting and we are really pleased with 19 boats on the starting list“, confirms Tit Plevnik, BENETEAU First SE – Seascape Edition OneDesign Class Manager.

A complete participant list and more about the race is available on the official Silverrudder website (https://www.silverrudder.com/).
