EUROSAF Inclusive Cup 2021 – the start of a success story

Seven regattas in the 2.4mR class were scheduled for the first EUROSAF Inclusive Cup. While the opening event in the Netherlands had to be cancelled due to the COVID restrictions in force at that time, all other events were sailed – albeit with some postponements.

Finally five events in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany and Italy were included in this European 2.4mR ranking. A total of 75 sailors from 9 nations in the ranking confirms that the Cup has brought great international attention to the individual regattas, and promoted the motivation of the sailors to take part in regattas beyond their national borders.

Among the highlights were the 45 participants in the International German Championship at Chiemsee. Or the 11(!) races sailed in three racing days at 24th Berlin Cup at the end of the season. A look at the overall results shows that the "hard-working" sailors are rewarded: The first three ranked participated in four or five events and were able to discard one or two results:

  1. Christian Bodler (GER)
  2. Karin Hofmann (GER)
  3. Alexander Sadilek (CZE)

More information can be found here.

The EUROSAF Inclusive Cup brought increased visibility and recognition in Europe – to the 2.4mR class in general, to the events, and thus also to the individual sailors. A continuation in the 2022 season is already being planned.
