Olbrich Freya and Piendl Paul win 7th European Mixed Offshore Championship

The EMOEC Academy – European Mixed Offshore European Championship has come to an end with a spectacular 300-mile return race, also valid as the 7th European Mixed Offshore Championship.

An exciting race that started in strong winds and was fought right down to the final mile.
The crews battled fiercely throughout the entire course, with only a few minutes separating the top finishers:

1st – Team N2Sailing – GER – Olbrich Freya · Piendl Paul
2nd – Team Poland – PL – Julia Oleksiuk · Maciek Lato
3rd – Team Baccarat – GB – Abby Hire · Oliver Baddeley

The numbers tell the story better than words: just 9 minutes separated first and second place, and only 4 minutes separated second and third.

This is the strength of offshore one-design racing: with identical boats, it is the crews, their strategy and their ability to read the sea that truly make the difference. A spectacular racing format that once again confirms the sporting value of the events organised by the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour.
