EUROSAF and International 420 Class will continue with the EUROSAF 420 Cup

EUROSAF, the continental association for the sport of sailing in Europe, and the International 420 Class Association, one of the biggest dinghy classes, will continue with the EUROSAF 420 Cup, a circuit of regattas within Europe, successfully launched in 2018 to foster and promote double-handed dinghy sailing in Europe.

The EUROSAF 420 Cup 2022 will comprise six events throughout Europe starting with The Carnival Race in Sanremo, Italy and ending at Kiel Week in Germany. The best boys’ and girls’ teams under 19 and the best team under 17 will be eligible for an individual starting place at the 420 Junior European Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal in mid July 2022.

“Together with the class association, we have decided to continue the Cup this year, even though the pandemic makes it difficult for the young sailors to stay in touch, travel and exchange among themselves. Three scores will be included in the overall rankings, which should provide an opportunity for many teams.”, says Timo Hass, vice-president of EUROSAF.
