All Medals for German Pirat Youth Teams

After four days of racing and eight races sailed the EUROSAF Junior Pirat European Championship ended with three German teams on the podium. Best home team from Lake Balaton finished on 8th place.

Hot and sunny, that was how Lake Balaton in Hungary welcomed 33 junior sailing teams from four nations. And the EUROSAF Junior Pirat European Championship started with very promising results for the home team Simonyi/Póké with two podium places and the lead after two races. But, with the ongoing regatta the favourized teams from Germany took over. After a total of 8 races sailed the German team claimed all podium places with Fynn Ausborm/Henrik Junge winning the gold medal. The two boys won two races and finished two more as runner-up. With Franz Erpenbeck/Charlotte Meyer following on second place the best mixed team finished just five points behind. „The club of young sailors here in Csopak did a very good job, on shore an on the water. We have seen great racing with great young sailors. Thank’s to the whole team of Procelero and hope to see another EUROSAF event in 2023“, György Wossala, EUROSAF honorary president, said right after the event.
