285 boats have crossed the finish line, concluding a spectacular race at the 2024 SILVERRUDDER. A major highlight was the EUROSAF BENETEAU First 27 SE & Seascape27 European Single-Handed Championship, held in Svendborg, Sweden. This year’s event was particularly challenging, with unpredictable conditions near the Great Belt bridge. Sailors faced dense fog and winds of up to 20 knots around the northern tip of Funen, while others were trapped for up to 8 hours in windless zones near the southern Little Belt.
Uroš Kraševac from Slovenia took the top spot, followed by Germany’s Jan Markus Peters and Per Cederberg from Denmark. The last boats safely entered Svendborg Harbour during saturday night, rounding off another demanding SILVERRUDDER Challenge of the Sea.
