The Circolo Velico Ravennate has a great history in organizing Match Race events, in 2022 it will host the European Championship. Until 2007 the highest ranked event organized was the MATCH RACE ROBERTO TROMBINI, first as part of the Swedish Match Tour and then as a World Match Racing Tour Regatta. In addition to “The Trombini” from 2010 until today there have been several Match Race events sailed in front of Ravenna including many editions of the Italian Match Race Championship. Race areas are either directly in the harbour or on an outside course also not far from the shoreline. To date, Circolo Velico Ravennate is a federal reference center for this special kind of sailing regattas.
The hosting club runs a fleet of eight Tom28, equipped with Spinnakers.
